Even though Apple is waving goodbye to iTunes as they are separating the app into three parts: Music, TV, and Podcasts. The process started with macOS Catalina but Apple assured Windows users that iTunes is here to stay in the Windows platform. Let's see if it's worth keeping!

iTunes started as an app that simplified transferring songs to old-school iPods. Today, it's a digital media market where you can buy and download music, movies, and TV shows. It remains the only official way of transferring media files to and from your mobile iOS devices. However, the app became bloated over the last couple of years so a Windows 10 Store version was released to help out Windows users. Instead of resolving the problem, the Store version is buggy, occasionally bricks connected devices, and is far from a perfect solution.

After a painful and long installation, you can start using the app immediately. The app's design is not what you'd expect from a respectable company like Apple. We love how it's neatly separated into the three parts that went on to become separate apps on macOS. Simply connect your Apple ID and begin streaming and downloading all sorts of content that will be appropriately categorized.

Apart from that, you can manually add local files and folders to your library and use iTunes as your default media player. Also, using iTunes is a must if you want to connect your iPhone to your PC so you don't have much choice in that scenario. The app installs several drivers and services that remain even after you uninstall it, which infuriated users so much, Apple created a Windows 10 Store app.
